Wellington County extending period to drop off winter storm brush free at waste facilities

Wellington County is letting residents know of an extension to the period for dropping off winter storm brush free at waste facilities.

A media release from county staff shares that winter storm brush can be dropped off free free of charge at county-run waste facilities until January 31.

Branches must be no longer than six feet in length in order to be accepted.

The waste facilities that will accept winter storm brush for free until the end of the month include the ones in Harriston, Belwood, Aberfoyle and Roverstown.

Overdose alert issued by GBPH

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit has issued an alert after 13 opioid-related overdoses were reported in the region in six days.
