The Hanover Police Service is reminding commercial and residential property owners to test their alarm systems and video surveillance after a break-in earlier this month.
According to police, on January 4, around 3 a.m. officers on patrol observed a commercial property that was forcibly entered.
Police said an investigation identified the male suspect who was responsible for the entry.
Two days later, officers located the suspect walking in the downtown core.
The 36-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested without incident.
During a search, officers allegedly found the suspect in possession of weapons, break-in tools and blank uncut motor vehicle keys.
He was returned to cells and later remanded into custody on charges including: carrying a concealed weapon, possession of break-in instruments, possessing an automobile master key and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
Hanover Police say property owners should test their alarm systems on a regular basis to ensure they are in proper working order.
