UPDATE: Driver sustains life-threatening injuries in crash along Southgate Road 24

A 19-year-old driver has sustained "serious and life-threatening injuries" according to police following a two-vehicle crash at an intersection along Southgate Road 24.

Grey Bruce OPP confirmed that the crash involved a pickup truck and a sedan at the intersection of Southgate Road 24 and Southgate Sideroad 75 on Tuesday afternoon.

OPP confirmed on social media just before 2:30 p.m. that one of the drivers had to be airlifted to a trauma centre due to significant injuries.

The intersection was closed for the investigation and has since reopened.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information, including dash cam footage, is asked to contact the Grey Bruce OPP at 1‑888‑310‑1122.
