Accreditation with Exemplary Standing awarded to Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance

The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance (LWHA) has been awarded Accreditation with Exemplary Standing.

This is the highest rating awarded by Accreditation Canada and is being awarded after a site visit in November of 2025.

According to a media release from the LWHA, this means that the organization has "met rigorous, evidence-informed standards and demonstrates a strong, organization-wide commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement."

Several organizational strengths of the LWHA were identified, including its robust ethical framework supporting ethical decision-making, strong partnerships that support safe and coordinated transitions in care, and quality improvement initiatives with meaningful patient and family engagement.

"Achieving Exemplary Standing is a major milestone for LWHA and a reflection of the exceptional work our teams deliver every day," said LWHA President and CEO Esther Millar. "This result is not accidental. It is the product of a deliberate focus on continuous improvement and a shared commitment to providing safe, high-quality care close to home by all the members of our healthcare teams."
