Man charged after puppy allegedly thrown across the room in Paisley

South Bruce OPP have charged a man with mischief and animal cruelty after allegedly throwing a puppy across the room during an incident of intimate partner violence in Arran-Elderslie on Thursday night.

Police responded to the call around 10 p.m. in Paisley.

According to OPP, the investigation revealed that a dispute occurred between two individuals at a residence, and the accused is alleged to have thrown a puppy across the room.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old resident of Brampton has been charged with animal cruelty and mischief.

The accused was taken into custody, and is set to appear in Walkerton Court at a later date.

Police say the identity of the accused will not be shared to protect the victim, and shared that victims of intimate partner violence can receive support from local resources, including Victim Services Bruce Grey at 1-866-376-9852.
