The Municipality of North Perth is looking into a cybersecurity incident that was discovered on Tuesday.
Municipal staff said as soon as they became aware of it, steps were taken to secure the systems, including taking some offline to stop any further unauthorized access.
The Municipality says it is working with cybersecurity experts to help contain the issue, restore the systems, and understand exactly what happened.
The investigation is still in the early stages and if it learned that any personal or sensitive information was affected, those involved will be contacted in accordance with all legal requirements.
