Huron County OPP have charged three people after seizing $27,000 in illegal drugs.
On November 12, just after 1:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Victoria Street South in Goderich. The driver was arrested for impaired driving, and a search of the vehicle saw officers recover a quantity of suspected fentanyl and cocaine.
This prompted a further investigation by officers from the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Grey-Bruce CSCU, and Huron County OPP Crime Unit, which resulted in a search warrant for a location on Currie Line, in the Township of North Huron.
During the search warrant execution on November 13, officers recovered a stolen ATV, another quantity of suspected fentanyl and an illegal knife. Two people were arrested at the scene.
Police say the total value of the seized drugs is $27,000, and the value of the ATV and illegal knife is $4,600.
As a result, a 46-year-old and a 48-year-old from North Huron and a 32-year-old from Huron East, are facing numerous offences, including possession of a controlled substance. The 46-year-old is also facing charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and other offences.
All three accused have been released from custody with court dates scheduled throughout December at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich to answer to the charges.
