Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announces OMPF funding

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has announced Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) increases for municipalities in his riding for next year.

The funding increases were announced November 24 by Rae. His office says there is over $10 million for local municipalities through the OMPF for 2026.

Included in this funding is an increase of over $700,000 from the 2025 OMPF total in his riding.

Rae shared that municipalities in Perth-Wellington will see an average increase of over 7.5 per cent in their funding allocations this year.

The provincial government claims that for 2026, the OMPF will include an additional increase of $50 million to provide a total of $600 million in unconditional funding to 388 municipalities.

The $50 million enhancement will be "targeted to small, northern, and rural municipalities and those with a limited property tax base," the provincial government stated.

"The Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund provides funding directly to our local municipalities, which can use the money to address pressing local needs," said MPP Rae. "I am proud that our government understands the importance of rural Ontario. This increased investment into our municipalities will provide them with the support they need to build our communities and attract new investments."
