Bruce County Council has approved its Capital and Operating Budget for 2026, completed with a a 4.37 per cent tax levy increase.
A final by-law to adopt the budget will be presented at the Council meeting on December 18.
"The 2026 Budget is a responsible step forward in realizing our strategic plan for Bruce County’s continued prosperity," said Warden Luke Charbonneau in a release. "Through this budget, we are dedicating significant funding to infrastructure and social supports in a way that represents good value for property taxpayers."
The county said the budget features key investments in transportation infrastructure, facilities, long-term care, and senior services, as well as housing and community development.
A specific example includes moving forward with the community housing development on Eastridge Road in Walkerton.
All told, the approved budget includes expenditures of $207 million. Property tax levies will provide $75.9 million in funding.
