Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and police services launch Festive R.I.D.E. campaign

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), and Ontario police services across the province will launch the annual Festive R.I.D.E. campaign on Thursday.

This yearly campaign focuses on impaired driving during the holiday season. The campaign this year runs from November 20, 2025, to January 1, 2026.

Police services and OPP detachments will be out patrolling the roadways in increased numbers during this period, and drivers can expect more roadside checks being conducted, as well.

Wellington County OPP, as an example, say they've already responded to 49 alcohol-related crashes this year so far as of November 16.

Police say if you suspect that you see an impaired driver, call 9-1-1. It could save a life.
