A 21-year-old Hanover man is facing numerous charges including assault with a weapon after stabbing a family member and sending the man to hospital.
Hanover Police Service says it responded to a violent incident at a residence on 6th Avenue on Monday night.
According to police, "the suspect was consuming alcohol inside a residence with family members and friends when he became intoxicated and made repeated threats to kill those present."
The 21-year-old then allegedly attacked a family member, stabbing an adult male twice before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim was taken to local hospital, treated for two stab wounds, and later released.
Police later located the suspect walking on 7th Avenue and he was taken into custody without further incident.
It was determined the man was currently on federal parole for previous crimes, which has since been revoked.
He is facing charges for assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of uttering death threats.
