The Township of Wellington North has approved just over $37,000 in local grants and donations for 2026.
The funds will be given to various community groups and organizations. Cash donations account for $18,000 of the funding, while just over $19,000 is in the form of fee waivers.
This funding will support 36 different community organizations, according to the township. That includes the Mount Forest Fireworks Festival, the Louise Marshall Hospital, the Arthur Lions and Optimist Clubs, and many more.
The Grants and Donations Community Development Program was first established in 2016. The township notes that there is $3,000 remaining that is set aide for discretionary in-year budget donations.
There were 58 total applications for funding received for 2026.
"The Grants and Donations Community Development Program is a vital part of our efforts to foster community engagement and support the invaluable work of our local organizations. We are proud to contribute to initiatives that enhance the quality of life for our residents," said Mayor Andy Lennox.
