Buy a holiday cookie, support United Way Perth-Huron

A cookie will have the power to put a smile on your face and money into the coffers of United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) next week.

The Tim Hortons holiday smile cookie campaign launches on Monday and it has been announced that half of the proceeds from its sales in Seaforth, Clinton, Blyth, and Milverton will go to UWPH’s urgent needs fund.

“We invite everyone to buy a cookie when you stop for your Tims coffee and help local people in a time of need," said UWPH Manager of Community Development Michelle Millar, who also offered her thanks to the owner of the four local Tim Hortons locations.

The urgent needs fund provides financial support for essentials such as winter clothing, car repairs, rent arrears, and groceries. It can be accessed by those who need it through the 211 helpline.

Tim Hortons holiday smile cookie, a white chocolate chip sugar cookie infused with red and green sprinkles and adorned with a hand-decorated smile, will be available for $2 each until November 23. The other half of the proceeds will go to support Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

The United Way is offering a bulk order form for the cookies on its website at perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
