A multi-vehicle crash that closed down a portion of Grey Road 18 on Monday has claimed the life of a Wiarton woman.
According to Grey Bruce OPP, the crash just south of Owen Sound near Rockford involved two vehicles, and forced police to close Grey Road 18 from Highway 6 to Concession 3 Derby.
Police and emergency crews responded to the crash at 8:30 a.m. The OPP have confirmed the crash involved a passenger vehicle and a pick-up truck.
A 35-year-old woman from Wiarton was taken to hospital and later pronounced deceased. Four other people were taken to hospital as a precaution with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
The road was closed for over nine hours while police completed their investigation and the area was cleared. It was reopened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
