Bruce Power launches annual toy and hamper drive

Bruce Power has kicked off its annual online fundraiser in support of toy drives and hamper programs that help hundreds of local families during the holidays.

The company is aiming to raise $55,000 this year for organizations serving communities across Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties. Donations can be made through www.brucepowertoydrive.com, and all contributions are eligible for a tax receipt.

The initiative is organized in partnership with the United Way of Bruce Grey, with funds going to a variety of local programs, including food banks, service clubs, and community outreach organizations. If the $55,000 goal is surpassed, Bruce Power and the United Way will distribute the additional funds to participating groups.

“With the rising prices of food and housing, it has been a difficult year for many families in our region, so we’re excited to once again support the work of these important community organizations as we approach the holiday season,” said Maggie Tieman, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and External Affairs. “We hope, if you’re able, you’ll give generously to these community groups that are dedicated to making the holidays brighter for so many local families during the holidays.”

Donations will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 24. Donations can be made through www.brucepowertoydrive.com and will be eligible for a tax receipt.

The toy and hamper drive is part of Bruce Power’s annual holiday outreach program, a collaboration between the company and its supplier partners. Altogether, the program will provide more than $325,000 this holiday season to local food banks, warm winter clothing initiatives, homeless shelters, community meal programs, and grocery gift card donations distributed through schools and women’s shelters across Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties
