Man critically hurt at Stratford home

Stratford police are reassuring there is no risk to public safety after a man was found seriously hurt at a home in the city over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the home on Norfolk Street just before 1 p.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, they found a 34-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to Stratford hospital before being transferred to a hospital in London, where as of Monday he remained in critical but stable condition, police said.

No details about what caused the man's injuries have been released.

Police did state that this is believed to be an isolated act and there is no risk to public safety.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information or video footage from the area is asked to call police at 519-271-4141 ext. 2 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
