Health unit seeking assistance with recent dog biting incident

Grey Bruce Public Health (GBPH) is asking for assistance in identifying a dog involved in a recently reported biting incident.

According to GBPH, the biting incident occurred on Saturday, October 18. Officials say a dog bit a woman at the dog park at Watson and Division streets in Wiarton.

Health officials say the dog is described as a mid-sized French bulldog-mix, brindle in colour with a black collar.

The dog was with an older man who had white hair and beard. The man was also with a small child and old beagle at the park.

Staff at GBPH need to verify the dog involved in this biting incident is not infectious with rabies, which will save the victim from having to receive a post-exposure rabies treatment.

If anyone has any information, contact Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420 ext. 1352.
