Harassment charge laid after person seen lurking in parking lot

A 40-year-old from Sarnia is accused of criminal harassment and trespassing after a person was spotting lurking in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Paisley.

South Bruce OPP were told the person was hanging around near vehicles in the lot shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, but ran away when confronted by tenants of the building.

Officers arrived and arrested a suspect nearby without incident.

A 40-year-old Sarnia resident is charged with one count each of criminal harassment, trespassing at night, and failure to comply with released order.

"Victims of intimate partner violence are not alone," police said in a statement. "If you or someone you know needs support, there are local resources available to help. One organization you can contact is Victim Services Bruce Grey at 1-866-376-9852."

Police also reminded OPP officers can be reached anytime, anywhere in the province by calling 1-888-310-1122 or 911 in an emergency.
