The Huron Chamber of Commerce held its annual golf tournament and raised thousands for a local women's shelter.
The tournament was earlier this summer, and over 50 golfers attended.
Fundraising resulted in $2,000 being donated to the Huron Women's Shelter, which provides safety, support, and resources for women and families experiencing domestic violence.
The shelter is at 376 Huron Road in Goderich. The website shares that the shelter programming is "centered on ending violence against women and their children, trauma recovery, mental health and providing access to resources and opportunities that increase independence."

"Events like this show that the Chamber is more than just a network of businesses," said Colin Carmichael, Executive Director of the Huron Chamber of Commerce. "We are a community of members—businesses, non-profits, and individuals—working side by side to build a better Huron County. The golf tournament is a perfect example of members helping members."
