The annual Wingham Terry Fox Run had another record breaking year.
After setting a fundraising record of $37,225 in 2024, $37,560 was raised in 2025, with more donations expected to roll in over the coming days.
Scott Miller, co-organizer of the event, says over 260 people walked, biked, or ran through Wingham for the 37th annual Terry Fox Run in the town on Sunday morning. Hundreds more donated online.
Miller spoke to CKNX recently about the power of the event and what it still represents in the 45 years since the first now annual Terry Fox Run was held in Canada.
A cancer survivor himself, Miller says days like Sunday give him hope that the fight is still going strong in Terry's memory. Wingham has now raised over $680,000 towards life changing cancer research. Across Canada, more $950 million has been raised through the Terry Fox Foundation, since 1988.
"Wingham and area turned out in droves, and we can't be more thankful for their support, year after year," said Wingham Terry Fox organizers, Steve Jackson and Scott Miller.
"We couldn't do this without the support of our fantastic volunteers, and corporate supporters, including Fogals-Your Independent Grocer, Burnside, and Marks Brothers Auto Body," added Miller.
