Owen Sound's Tyler Beckett said he was left speechless after winning Fiddle Player of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards in Kelowna Saturday Night.
Beckett was unable to attend the ceremony, but said his sister Linsey picked up the award for him.
He added Linsey gave a better acceptance speech off the cuff Saturday night on his behalf than he could have with a month of practice.
Beckett gave credit to his musical family, The Becketts, as well as The Jade Eagleson Band and the Dan Davidson Band, for getting him where he is.
"You guys have put me where I am today. I wish I could’ve been there in person to celebrate with everyone!" Beckett added.
He added that all of the nominees are inspiring and doing amazing things.
