Man arrested after parking gates damaged and threats uttered

South Bruce OPP have arrested one person following two separate incidents in Chesley.

On August 31, police say officers responded to a report of a man damaging parking gates at the local hospital along 2nd Street Southeast in Chesley.

Police found the suspect and placed them under arrest. The man was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody.

On September 7, police were called to a disturbance at an address along 2nd Avenue Southeast in Chesley. The same individual is alleged to have uttered threats to a resident. A search warrant was issued on September 8 and the man was once again arrested.

As a result, the 42-year-old Chesley man has been charged with numerous offences including mischief and uttering threats. The accused was held for a bail hearing on September 9, and subsequently released from custody with a court date at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on September 24 to answer to the charges.
