The Municipality of South Bruce says a recent Ontario Trillium Foundation grant has allowed it to provide a more seamless program registration experience.
On Friday, MPP Lisa Thompson met with the Municipality to follow up on a $40,700 grant that was awarded in 2024 to help implement an online registration and booking software.
"This investment in new online registration and booking software is a great example of how provincial support can make everyday life easier for residents," said Thompson. "By streamlining the way people register for programs, book facilities, and check availability, South Bruce is enhancing access to recreation opportunities and ensuring families can enjoy all the benefits of an active, connected community."
The Municipality has now implemented the Univerus Recreation Software, where residents can seamlessly book facilities or register for recreation programs. The OTF grant helped with the costs of purchasing debit terminals, as well as two years of online software licensing fees, and the needed training and technology to support work with the new software.
"This investment will make it easier and more convenient for residents to access our fantastic recreational programming and facilities," said Mayor Mark Goetz, Municipality of South Bruce. "Whether it’s signing up for a swim class, booking a space for community events, or registering for programs, this upgrade helps us build more active and connected communities."
Last year, OTF invested nearly $105M into 732 community projects and multi-sector partnerships.
