The Huron Hospice will host its No Place Like Home Farm to Fork Dinner in Holmesville next month.
A media release from the hospice shares that the annual dinner is the signature event and key fundraiser for the hospice and its operations.
There will be local wines and beer served, a wine raffle, a silent auction and an auction of pies, with each pie sharing a unique story about Huron Hospice.
Funds raised each year help pay for the care at Huron Hospice. Last year, Hospice nurses and volunteers provided care for more than 50 people at Bender House in Clinton, which had an 80 per cent occupancy. Additionally, home hospice and respite volunteers made 567 visits to families in their homes, and 89 people attended 345 grief group sessions.
Tickets for the Huron Hospice No Place Like Home Farm to Fork Dinner are $150 each or $1,200 for a table of eight.
The dinner this year, which will be provided by Part II Bistro of Goderich, will "evoke visions of a Huron County 100-mile diet. If the ingredient is unavailable in Huron County, it will come from as close to home as possible," according to the Huron Hospice media release.
