United Way Perth Huron (UWPH) is looking for new members for its Social Planning and Research Council.
UWPH shared in a news release that they need new members to join the council to help "address urgent needs across the region."
The Social Research and Planning Council helps UWPH by guiding research processes, approving research reports, and supporting advocacy campaigns across Huron and Perth.
The committee terms for members is three years, and right now, UWPH is particularly interested in adding new members who have "lived experience of exclusion and discrimination. This could be due to poverty, ability, citizenship, religion and/or personal identity and expression," the news release stated.
Personal or professional experience with social systems like social services, courts, child welfare, and immigration is also valuable.
