Wellington OPP are asking for the public's help as it probes the theft of several historical and bridge dedication plaques.
One of the plaques snatched was located on a post in Glen Allan Park on Side Road 17 in Mapleton Township. It was titled "The Queen's Bush Settlement 1820-1867" and was reported missing on July 29. Two more historical plaques belonging to the Arthur Agricultural Society were reported stolen to police on August 15. The plaques were taken from the entrance to the Arthur Community Centre on Domville Street in Arthur.
Approximately sixteen other dedication plaques have removed from bridges throughout the country since May, police said.
As police continue to investigate the thefts, they are asking anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
