Only one person won the Oasis tickets, but a 50/50 raffle by the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth (HSKWSP) proved to be a winner for all of the animals in its care.
The Oasis VIP 50/50 Raffle was launched in May with the pot climbing to $36,695.
On Tuesday, Jackie Strauss had her name drawn as the lucky winner. She takes home pair of tickets to see Oasis' sold out show at Rogers Stadium in Toronto this Sunday, $500 in travel cash, and half of the 50/50 jackpot, which totaled $18,347.50. The other half of the pot stays with the humane society.
“This raffle was an exciting way to connect music fans and animal lovers, and the results are incredible,” Victoria Baby, CEO of HSKWSP, said in a statement. “Every ticket sold helped provide lifesaving care, shelter, and adoption opportunities for animals in need, while giving one supporter the chance of a lifetime. It truly is a win-win.”
The money raised through the fundraiser will go to help essential programs at the humane society, including outreach and veterinary care, sheltering, and adoption services.
