Stunt driving and alcohol-related charges have been laid against an Arthur teen.
It was around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when Wellington OPP spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Wellington Road 17 in Mapleton Township. Officers pulled the vehicle over and found what they called an "abundance" of alcohol inside.
As a result of the investigation an 18-year-old from Arthur was arrested. The accused is charged with six offences including stunt driving, driving with a blood alcohol concentration above zero, driving a vehicle with liquor readily available, and driving with an obstructed windshield. The teen has had their licence suspended for 30 days and their vehicle impounded for two weeks.
Police remind the public that if they see someone they suspect is driving while impaired to call 911 immediately. Any non-emergency traffic complaints can be made by calling OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or logging onto www.opp.ca/reportacrime.
