South Bruce OPP welcomes New Staff Sergeant

The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment has welcomed Staff Sergeant Lynn McNichol as its new Detachment Commander. She officially joined the South Bruce team on June 2, 2025.

In her new role, S/Sgt. McNichol assumes responsibility for policing operations across Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, Arran-Elderslie, South Bruce, and Brockton.

McNichol comes to the position with 18 years of experience with the OPP in Huron County. Throughout her career, she has worked in a wide range of roles, including frontline Constable, Domestic Violence Investigator, Youth Crime Officer, Property Crimes Investigator, frontline Sergeant, and Operation Support Sergeant.

Now stepping into her role as Staff Sergeant, McNichol says she remains committed to frontline policing and to ensuring officers have the tools and resources they need to serve their communities effectively.

She expressed her enthusiasm about the move, noting that she looks forward to building strong relationships and gaining a deeper understanding of the communities within South Bruce.
