A public apology has been issued by Full Throttle Motor Speedway in Varney, Ontario, following a significant collision that happened when a car entered the hot speedway under green flag conditions.
According to a statement from Owner Paul Trepanier, the incident occurred Saturday, August 9, when a safety tow vehicle owned and operated by a third party entered the track, leaving a competitor's racecar heavily damaged, along with the tow vehicle.
"First and foremost, Full Throttle Speedway is publicly apologizing to #99 Bone Stock Team of Hunt Racing, which made heavy contact with the tow vehicle," said the statement.
An undisclosed private financial agreement was reached with team owner James Hunt to settle the incident.
Trepanier is also apologising to fans, teams, and stakeholders and vowing to learn from the incident and adapt procedures to prevent any future incidents.
