The Municipality of Brockton has joined other municipalities in the region and issued an open air burn ban.
A statement from the Municipality of Brockton says that effective immediately, all agricultural, brush, and derelict building burn permits are suspended until further notice.
This is due to to recent extreme temperatures and a lack of rainfall.
However, recreational fires for cooking and warmth are still permitted to continue, in compliance with Brockton’s Open Air Burn By-Law.
Brockton joins Huron County and the municipalities of Huron-Kinloss, including Lucknow, in issuing open air burn bans. Additionally, Arran-Elderslie has also now issued an open air burn ban, which includes the use of burn barrels or fireworks of any kind.
