Shortly before 7:30 a.m., Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services responded to a three-story building in the 900 block of Second Avenue East for a report of smoke filling the hallway.

Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the third floor of the mixed-use commercial and residential building.

The on-duty shift, supported by second alarm firefighters, quickly contained and extinguished the fire in the third-floor apartment.

According to a media release, no one was hurt. The 17-unit building is home to about 25 residents.
