Mildmay set to hold hazardous waste collection event

Bruce County is getting set to hold another hazardous waste collection event, this time in Mildmay.

On Saturday, August 9, residents can come drop off any household hazardous waste products to the South Bruce Municipal Building in Mildmay from 8 a.m. to noon.

Household hazardous waste materials include: paints and stains, propane tanks, used oil, aerosols, batteries, antifreeze, oil filters, solvents, household cleaners, fluorescent lights, fertilizers, fuel, pharmaceuticals, fire extinguishers, pesticides, and pool chemicals.

A reminder that items like commercial waste, agricultural waste, industrial waste, PCB’s, ammunitions and flares are not accepted.

All residents dropping off waste must remain in their vehicles during the drop-off, and place all materials in an open trunk or truck bed to be unloaded by staff.

More details including accepted and non-accepted items can be found here: http://www.brucecounty.on.ca/hazardouswaste
