E-biker left with 'obvious head trauma' after colliding with sign

An electric-biker had to be airlifted to hospital after a collision in Port Elgin.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Centennial Crescent and Bruce Street around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday where a man on an e-bike had hit a construction sign. Upon arrival, first responders found a 57-year-old man unconscious with obvious head trauma, Saugeen Shores police said.

The man was taken to Southampton hospital before being airlifted to a larger trauma centre for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Investigators are asking anyone who has dash-cam or security footage from the area around the time of the incident to call police at 519-832-2500.
