South Bruce OPP announced late Thursday morning Lilly, whose last name was not released, had been located and is safe. The teen had not been seen since 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, causing concern for her well-being.
"OPP would like to thank everyone who shared the appeal for assistance or provided any information," police wrote on a post on social media.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
