OPP looking for tips in recent sexual assault

Wellington County OPP are asking for any tips from the public as they investigate a reported sexual assault.

On May 28, the Wellington OPP Crime Unit launched an investigation after getting a report of a sexual assault that was said to have occurred on Whites Junction trail in Palmerston.

According to police, around 8 a.m. on May 25, the complainant was on the trail and was followed by a man.

"The suspect asked the victim to have sex for money, while also attempting to grab the victim's arm. The victim fled without injury and reported the incident to police," police said.

Investigators are hoping someone can identify the suspect in question. They are described as a White male, 6'-6'2" in height with an average to thin build. The suspect was clean-shaven with a long face, long nose and crooked, discoloured teeth

The suspect was wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, dark blue jeans, running shoes, and black Oakley sunglasses. They had a slow cadence of speech and acne scarring on their cheeks and forehead.
