18-year-old killed in single-vehicle crash in Bruce Peninsula

A teenager has died after an early morning single-vehicle crash northwest of Hepworth.

Emergency crews were called to the serious collision on Spring Creek Road between Legion and Allenford roads just after 3 a.m. on Friday. One person was taken to hospital where they later died from their injuries, Grey Bruce OPP said.

The deceased has been identified as an 18-year-old South Bruce Peninsula resident. Their name has not been released.

A second person hurt in the collision remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The section of Spring Creek Road remained closed as of noon as investigators continued to probe the cause of the crash. Drivers have been asked to avoid the area until further notice.
