Wellington County launches tourism experience development program

Wellington County is launching a new "tourism experience development program," according to a media release from the county.

The new program is being launched in June to help boost tourism in the county. It is designed to help local tourism businesses and organizations in creating new experiences that highlight the area's "natural beauty, culinary offerings, cultural richness, and rural charm," the media release stated.

Grants of up to $3,000 will be available to tourism businesses to help develop new market-ready experiences to offer to customers.

This new program will prioritize projects that support regional marketing, highlights seasonal and recurring events and encourages exploration of the region.

Applicants being encouraged to apply include tourism businesses, non-profit organizations, and events located in Wellington County. Collaborative projects are strongly encouraged.

Applications will be accepted online starting June 3, 2025, with funding available for projects running between July 1, 2025 and March 15, 2026.

More information about the programme, eligibility criteria, and the application process is available at www.wwcf.ca/wctourismgrant or by contacting the County of Wellington’s Economic Development Office.
