The popular Rotary Huron Shore Run will be back on Saturday, May 31 along the scenic Lake Huron shoreline for a morning of fitness, community, and purpose.
Since 1988, the event has raised vital funds for local health and youth programs, leaving a lasting legacy of care and connection in Saugeen Shores.
This year’s event promises something for everyone, offering a 5K run/walk, 10K run, and introducing a brand-new, flatter 21.1K half marathon route along the waterfront. Families with young ones can also enjoy the free Kids Fun Run.
All races begin on High Street in Southampton, guiding participants along a stunning route south toward Port Elgin before looping back to Southampton.
Proceeds from the 2025 Rotary Huron Shore Run will support the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, helping fund an Automated Dispensing Unit (ADU) for Brightshores Health System. These state-of-the-art medication systems improve patient safety and efficiency by allowing nurses to quickly and accurately access medications, particularly in emergencies, ensuring faster, safer care for patients.
The event also uplifts vital community groups, with funds benefiting the Saugeen Track and Field Club, Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club, Breakers Swim Team, Chantry Seniors Centre, and local Rotary Clubs in Southampton, Port Elgin, and Saugeen Shores, each playing a critical role in building an active, healthy, and connected community.
According to organizers, the Rotary Huron Shore Run has grown into a fixture along the Lake Huron shoreline, drawing participants from across Ontario and creating countless race day memories.
Sanctioned by Athletics Ontario, the event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. In-person registration and bib pick-up will be held at the Southampton Coliseum on Friday, May 30, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Race day begins bright and early on Saturday, with events running throughout the morning and an awards celebration capping off the day’s festivities.
The Rotary Huron Shore Run is made possible by dedicated volunteers who will receive a complimentary Rotary Huron Shore Run technical t-shirt as a token of appreciation.
