Two GoFundMe campaigns have been launched in the wake of a tragic workplace accident in Chepstow that claimed one life and left another man seriously injured.
On the morning of Friday, May 23, South Bruce OPP responded to an incident on Concession Road 6 that resulted in the death of Nick Wood and serious injuries to Joseph O’Brien.
Friends of Nick Wood are raising funds to cover funeral expenses and establish trust funds for his two children, Mason and Camryn, as well as provide support for his mother, Christine. The fundraiser describes Nick as a devoted father and loyal friend, whose sudden loss has left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

"Nick worked hard every day to provide for his family," stated organizers of the fundraiser. "This fundraiser is our way to continue his legacy of care and ensure his family is looked after in this difficult time."
Meanwhile, another campaign has been set up to assist the O’Brien family. Joseph O’Brien was airlifted to the hospital after sustaining multiple traumatic injuries, including fractures to his leg, spine, and hand, as well as a head injury. Organizers are raising money to help the family manage medical expenses, travel for treatment, and income loss during his recovery.
"The O’Briens have always been generous, hardworking, and full of heart — now it’s our turn to rally around them in their time of need," said organizers of a GoFundMe campaign. "Any contribution, big or small, will help ease their burden and bring hope during an incredibly challenging time."
Both campaigns emphasize how important community support is during this difficult time and encourage donations or shares to help spread the word.
