Harriston Kinsmen receive donation from local legion

The Harriston Kinsmen have received a donation from the Harriston Legion toward a new multi-use outdoor sports pad.

A media release from the Harriston Kinsmen shares that the legion has donated $4,000 from the proceeds of Catch the Ace toward the new sports pad.

The new sports pad has already been open and in use for several months, and is being used regularly by local youth for basketball and ball hockey.

Despite that, there is still some work that needs done to the pad, including line painting for things like pickleball.

"It’s always nice to get support from other local service groups. We do work with them, we rent our space from them and we have held charities with them or worked with them in the past," said Past Kinsmen President, Curt McDonald. "Down the road we're going to have some lines painted on there so we can get people out playing pickleball. Hopefully we can get some nets set up for that as well. We'd like to have a dance to celebrate the opening of the pad there, as well."
