Georgian Bluffs will celebrate biodiversity and diversity later this month.
On Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Township will host a Planting Bee and Gardening Workshop at the Township Administrative Office on Grey County Road 18 in Owen Sound.
The event invites residents of all ages and gardening experience levels to roll up their sleeves and help create a beautiful new pollinator garden on Township grounds. It’s a hands-on way to support local biodiversity, learn a little about native plants, and brighten up the community in the process.
Lunch will be provided, and while you’re welcome to bring your own labeled shovel, there’ll be extras to share. Plus, community partners like Hutten and Co. and local gardening groups will be on hand with displays and helpful tips for anyone looking to dig deeper into gardening.
At 11 a.m., everyone is invited to gather at the Township flagpole for a Pride Flag Raising Ceremony, marking the start of Pride Month in Georgian Bluffs and celebrating diversity and inclusion in the community.
The event is free to attend, but organizers ask that you register through Eventbrite so they can plan for lunch.
