Cancer Patient Services Corporation (CPSC) has donated $70,000 to the Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMH Foundation), continuing its longstanding support of the hospital.
Cancer Patient Services is a charitable organization that provides support, transportation, and services to cancer patients in Mount Forest and surrounding communities. Over the years, CPSC has been a vital partner to the Louise Marshall Hospital, funding important equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
CPSC President Maureen Dineen and Directors Brenda Harris and Jeannie Warmington presented the most recent donation to LMH Foundation Directors Mel Robinson and Donna Leach. This gift will be used to purchase colonoscopes for the hospital’s surgical department, bringing CPSC’s total lifetime donations to Louise Marshall Hospital to more than $400,000.
In addition to this latest contribution, Cancer Patient Services made significant donations earlier in 2024, including $100,000 to introduce Magseed technology for breast cancer surgery and a $60,000 donation to fully fund an automated medication dispensing cabinet, known as an Omnicell cabinet, for the hospital’s Oncology unit.
“Cancer Patient Services has been blessed to have the continued support of the whole of our community. We take very seriously the responsibility of seeing that your donations help bring ‘cancer care close to home’ and that we are able to provide assistance when and where needed. The Thrift Shop is a very important source of funds for Cancer Patient Services, and the support of this volunteer organization has been invaluable," said Maureen Dineen, President of Cancer Patient Services Corporation. "If you are in need of guidance, having received a cancer diagnosis, please reach out to our Cancer Care Coordinator at 519-323-0255 Ext. 5014. Help is but a phone call away.”
“Cancer Patient Services brings an invaluable service to our community," added LMH Foundation Board Chair Scott Hartle. "We are incredibly fortunate to have the support of individuals who believe in this cause, and that the team at Cancer Patient Services is helping the hospital bring in the equipment it needs to take care of cancer patients in our community.”
This latest contribution underscores the vital collaboration between community organizations and healthcare providers in ensuring access to essential services and equipment for local patients.
