Construction underway on New Paisley Firehall and Public Works Facility

A long-anticipated community project is officially underway in Paisley, as the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie has broken ground on a brand-new facility that will serve as both the Paisley Firehall (Station 80) and a Public Works Facility.

The new development will replace Station 80 with a modern, purpose-built space designed to serve the community for several years. At approximately 14,000 square feet, the new firehall will offer improved training areas and a healthier, safer environment for fire personnel. The space will enhance the ability of Arran-Elderslie Fire and Emergency Services to respond to emergencies and continue safeguarding the well-being of local residents.

Alongside the firehall, the project includes a new Public Works Facility, offering increased room and upgraded infrastructure to support municipal road maintenance and equipment storage. This expansion comes as Paisley and the surrounding area experience steady growth and evolving service needs.

Fire Chief Steve Tiernan expressed enthusiasm as the project moves from planning to construction.

“The new Paisley Station 80 will provide our members with the space and resources they need to work safely, train effectively, and continue delivering the highest standard of emergency services,” he said. “We’re excited to see this long-anticipated project become a reality.”

Mayor Steve Hammell highlighted the importance of the project for the broader community.

“This is an important and much-needed capital project for our community,” Hammell said. “The new Fire Hall will strengthen our emergency response capabilities and support public safety for years to come. We look forward to celebrating its completion with the community.”

Construction is now underway, with the facility set to deliver enhanced emergency services and infrastructure support to Paisley and the surrounding municipality well into the future.
