Hanover Police have charged a 35-year-old man of no fixed address after he ran away from officers on Friday.
According to police, officers spotted the wanted man west of the P and H Centre around 4 p.m. The suspect ran through backyards and was chased by officers.
The man allegedly stole a bike from a residence in the 200 block of 7th Avenue in order to escape police. The area was searched, but the suspect could not be found.
The following day, shortly before 3 a.m., Hanover officers on patrol again spotted the wanted man on 8th Street. He was again chased by officers through backyards and this time was arrested.
Hanover Police say officers seized tools from the suspect that included a grinder, flashlights, knives, and pliers.
The man has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, trespassing by night, and five counts of breach of probation.
He was remanded into custody at his bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Walkerton Court later this week.
