Two vital community organizations - OSHaRE and Safe ‘N Sound - have been selected as the 2025 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign beneficiaries in Owen Sound.
From April 28 to May 4, 10 per cent of the proceeds from every Smile Cookie sold at local Tim Hortons locations will support the essential services these organizations provide to individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
“We are grateful to Tim Hortons and our community for this opportunity,” said Wren Fitzakerley, Fundraising and Communications Manager at Safe ‘N Sound. “Funds raised will help us continue to provide critical support to those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in Owen Sound.”
The campaign, a popular annual initiative, features Tim Hortons’ signature chocolate chunk cookies decorated with pink and blue icing smiles, available for $2 each. In a fun twist for 2025, Smile Cookie plushies will also be available for $5, with $2 from each plush toy also going to the local charities.
“We are so thankful for the staff and management at Tim Hortons,” said Colleen Trask Seaman, Executive Director of OSHaRE. “Their commitment to supporting the community is steadfast and incredibly generous.”
Safe ‘N Sound operates a drop-in centre that offers daily support, housing assistance, and advocacy for individuals experiencing homelessness. OSHaRE provides free community meals, school lunches, family meal programs, and Supportive Outreach Service (SOS) meals.
