Chi-Cheemaun Business event creates connections

Bruce and Grey Counties are inviting local professionals to climb aboard the M.S. Chi-Cheemaun for an evening of music, mingling, and meaningful connections.

The Cruise and Connect event departs from Owen Sound Harbour on the evening of Thursday, April 24.

Grey County Economic Development Officer Kaleena Sanford said it is one of the region’s largest networking events of the year, offering an evening of connections, conversation, and community.

"It is great for anyone who is looking to grow their business, meet new collaborators, or simply expand their social circle, to join the event and for a great evening on board the iconic Chi-Cheemaun ferry," said Sanford.

She added that networking sessions are planned to help professionals build valuable relationships.

"Whether you are a small business in retail or working for a major manufacturing company, there are still the same sort of problems that need solving, and you can find a lot in common," Sanford added. "Then, just getting to know who is in the community and the types of businesses and professionals who decide to live and work within Grey and Bruce County. It's pretty diverse."

The $40 ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, live music and expert-led networking sessions.

"We're also going to have engaging networking sessions hosted by Heather Travis. She's a public relations expert, marketing strategist and fall business branding coach," Sanford continued. "So really, lots of opportunities to be entertained and engaged."

Boarding starts at 6:15 p.m. at 1155 1st Avenue West, Owen Sound, where the Chi-Cheemaun is docked during the winter months. The ship leaves at 7 p.m. sharp.

Cruise and Connect tickets are still available at Eventbrite.
