Owen Sound is welcoming the warmer weather with a full slate of spring clean-up efforts across the city. Municipal crews are preparing to roll out seasonal maintenance and beautification tasks as the community transitions out of winter.
The City’s Leaf and Yard Waste Compost Site has reopened to the public. The site provides a drop-off point for natural yard waste, helping residents dispose of materials in an environmentally friendly way.
Over the coming weeks, City staff will focus on key maintenance activities, including hanging new seasonal banners in the River District, street sweeping, pressure washing sidewalks, and repainting road lines. These efforts are expected to continue throughout April and May, weather permitting.
Residents are encouraged to report any seasonal issues like potholes or landscape damage caused by snow clearing equipment using the online “Report A Concern” form at OwenSound.ca/ReportAConcern.
The City is also inviting residents to take part in spring cleaning efforts in their own neighbourhoods. As part of the River District’s Locals Love It Here campaign, free Community Clean-up Carts are available to borrow.
