Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health named as finalist for funding

The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health has been selected as a finalist for a prestigious award.

A media release from the Gateway Centre shares that the organization has been named as one of the Top 3 organizations in Ontario for the Growing Home with BASF Canada program.

This means the Gateway Centre has the opportunity to win up to $25,000 in funding to support critical rural healthcare and well-being initiatives.

The centre has had a strong focus on the well-being of farmers, and the organization’s Farmers Safety & Well-Being Project provides "essential resources to help farmers navigate the stressors of agriculture business today", according to the media release.

If the Gateway Centre wins the funding, it will go towards expanding the Farmers Safety & Well-Being Project.

Now it's down to a public vote. Voting is open from April 1-15. The organization with the most votes will receive the grand prize of $25,000, while second and third place will receive $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.

To vote, visit https://agro.basf.ca/growinghome/voting.html.

"This funding would allow Gateway CERH to expand our Farmers Safety & Well-Being Program, reaching more of our agriculture community during this time of uncertainty and provide critical support," shared Gwen Devereaux, President of Gateway CERH.
