Vehicle used in Brockton break-in will have front-end damage: OPP

South Bruce OPP are looking for three suspects and a pickup truck with front-end damage after a break-in at a rural property in Brockton.

Police were called about the incident at an address on Sideroad 20 North just before 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The property owner returned to find three people breaking in. Upon the arrival of the owner, the trio took off in a blue GMC pickup truck with no licence plates, hauling a silver single-axle utility trailer. During the escape, the suspect vehicle hit the property owner's vehicle. Police said in a statement released on Monday, the pickup will have some degree of front-end damage.

The suspect vehicle was last seen heading north toward Chesley.

Police did not specify whether the thieves made off with any property.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police are reminding the public to report any suspicious behaviour and for property owners to consider installing security cameras, additional lighting, and alarms.

"If you already have security cameras, consider registering with the CAMSafe program at camsafe.ca," police said.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
